Liane Clare

Receptionist and Clinical Assistant
I am new to the practice commencing in June 2018. Prior to working here I have been employed as a medical receptionist for the past 8 years. I was looking for a change in my career that was more challenging and diverse. I am enjoying the new role and am becoming very informed about gynaecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery. My role has changed significantly and I now have a much greater level of responsibility. It is nice to see that Dr Onuma takes time with each of his patient’s and tries to make them feel as comfortable as possible. I interact with people from different parts of Australia and other parts of the world as a result of Dr Onuma’s national and international reputation.

At work we adopt a well-regulated system of patient care that allows us to treat patients safely and whilst this is important, what I really like is Dr Onuma’s approachability and ability to make his patients relax even when they are initially out of their comfort zone. Dr Onuma said to me very early in my employment here, “First the person, then the patient,” and every day that I work for his practice, the more I understand the relevance of that ethos.
