Labiaplasty

EXPERT IN INTIMATE GYNAECOLOGY SURGERY

“Labiaplasty is increasingly topical, often contentious, challenging in unexpected ways, and emotive. Labiaplasty performed on a well- motivated, well-informed patient by an experienced, well-trained surgeon is preferred for all surgery interactions. My book, ‘So, you want a labiaplasty’ addresses the current scarcity of detailed information for women considering labiaplasty. I believe that it is essential reading for women considering surgery.”

Dr Onuma is the author of So, You Want A Labiaplasty and The Ultimate V. These books are unique and aimed at women considering their options for labial, vaginal and pelvic floor treatments.

What is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty can be defined as surgery to change the shape of any part of the labia, typically making them smaller and/or correcting any asymmetry between them.

Labia minora reduction is the most requested surgery on the female external genitalia. Although hidden from general view, symptomatic women often express significant distress.

What is Periclitoraplasty?

Periclitoraplasty describes surgery to the periclitoral tissues. However, the words periclitoraplasty and periclitoral are words created by Dr Oseka Onuma. He made them up to explain the tissues surrounding the clitoris and define surgery to these tissues.

Perineal labiaplasty describes surgery to the labial minora where it has crossed into the perineum. The term perineal labiaplasty was created by Dr Oseka Onuma. In addition to refashioning the perineum, this surgery often involves consideration and appropriate reconstruction of the lower parts of the vaginal entrance (forchette and upper perineal body).
