Dr Onuma gained a Master of Jurisprudence at the Faculty of Law, University of Birmingham (UK). His Master’s Thesis was titled: “A study of how the law influences and is influenced by the relationships between hospital complaints procedures, consent to medical treatment and the practice of defensive medicine.” Dr Onuma has a particular interest in issues related to Consent in the practice and delivery of medical care.
Dr Onuma is on the ‘Expert Witness’ register of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. His expertise is in the area of gynaecology and urogynaecology. He provides medical assessments and second opinions for patients and lawyers based on guidance and regulations from the Courts of Law. These opinions are independent, unbiased and based on accepted medical practice.
